The judges will want to learn what we are doing to preserve our heritage: including natural, cultural and agricultural. The preservation and restoration of buildings, homes, churches and cemeteries. The identification, maintenance and use of historic sites, monuments, parks, gardens and trees. They will be interested in historical and genealogy societies, museums, archives, artifacts and interpretive programs. Included here will be farmer’s markets, festivals and parades.
In the municipal segment, leadership in preservation and restoration initiatives, legal protection of heritage sites, ordinances and resource availability. And, finally, clear evidence of wide community involvement and youth participation in cultural, historical and heritage activities.
